Solicitors to be banned from acting on both sides of a property transaction – Holland Condon Solicitors Kilkenny providing legal advice to all

May 31, 2012

We just received an email this morning from our governing body (The Law Society) that the task force on conveyancing are recommending that solicitors be prohibited from acting on both sides of a property transaction except transfer of a family home into joint names of husband and wife.

So, if you are thinking of transferring a site to your child or the farm to your son/daughter, then , if enacted, each side will have to engage their own lawyer. This will increase the legal costs for the people concerned.
