Increase to cost of Buying property in Ireland – a legal news update from Property Lawyers Holland Condon Solicitors Kilkenny

Jan 14, 2013

Since 1st December 2012, the Irish Land registry have substantially increased the cost of registering property transactions. The average increase will be in the order of €450 per transaction.

So anyone buying property in the Irish Republic will see a significant increase on their legal bill. The increases affect all land purchases, house purchases, and sales; practically, anything to do with property.

At a time when money is tight, their increases are bewildering. Perhaps, the media need to raise alarm bells on this one !

To add to our bewilderment, we note that the English Land Registry REDUCED their fees in October ,2012.
