The Property Registration Authority (PRA) says the Registry of Deeds in Henrietta Street in Dublin has now reopened to the public for access to pre-1970 records.
There are a number of measures in place in response to COVID-19, and the registry has changed its access procedures.
Appointments
People can attend only by appointment made through the PRA’s online booking system. Three types of appointments are available:
- Access to microfilm readers,
- Access to abstract books,
- Access to townland, names and transcript books.
Those making an appointment must also pre-order all of the material they wish to view on their visit.
Opening hours
Opening hours are between 10am and 12.30pm and 2pm to 4.30pm. Appointments are for the duration of the morning or afternoon slot.
The authority says its public counter services for access to post-1970 public searches remains closed, and will be re-introduced “at the next phase of upscaling”.
